Secondary Research Highlights

Consistent evidence indicated higher rates of suicidal behaviour among sexual minority youth than their heterosexual counterparts.

LGBTQ+ youth represent 20-40% of all homeless young people (forced to leave their home because their family’s religious beliefs did not accept them).

Those who were able to be open in their faith-based communities were less likely to have considered suicide than other non-heterosexual teens.

James Baldwin

“We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.”

THe MESSAGE

Many Churchgoers believe that homosexuality is wrong and sinful. Because of this belief, sexual minorities within the Church have been harmed physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. The overall message of the Bible is to spread unconditional love, so the goal is to deconstruct biblical interpretations that discriminate against a minority group of the population.

Desired Outcomes
